This is a waymarked five mile trail race which has five main rollercoaster hills (and quite a few smaller ones!), all off-road in the beautiful Tamar Trails in the Tamar Valley. There are some steep descents and ascents and it is advisable to wear trails shoes as the tracks can get muddy in places. Entry forms are available to download here. On Sunday 26 February, members of the Run Venture running club, the Tamar Trail Runners, took on the Puretrail Hameldown Hammer - a tough, challenging trail race, designed to be a serious test of endurance. A new running club at the Tamar Trails Centre near Gulworthy is off to a flying start, and is inviting anyone in need of a post summer holiday exercise regime to come along.
