Due to the success of our Lake District trip, we are doing a weekend trip to the Brecon Beacons in September (Friday 23 - Sunday 25).
This trip is 100% guided by us, but it is greatly influenced by yourselves, and what you want to achieve from it.
Please read through all of the below, paying particular attention to the kit list, which we can further advise on should you need more information.
Friday: Meet 4pm at Run Venture Tavistock (pick up on route available - ask for details). Upon arrival at approx. 7:30pm, we will drop off our kit, put our runners on and head out on a gentle 4 mile-ish trail run (headtorches will be required). On completion, we will settle in and enjoy a simple cooked meal before relaxing next to the wood burner.
Saturday: After a leisurely breakfast, we will prep our kit for a day long run visiting a few mountains including Pen Y Fan. Lunch will be out on the hill. The run will be approx. 13 miles. On return, we will stretch, shower and settle in for the night with a prepared evening meal.
Sunday: As Saturday, after a breakfast and loading the baggage into the vehicle, we will set of for another long run in the mountains. On completion, we will head back south to Devon, expecting to be back in Devon by 6pm
For the duration of the weekend, we will be accommodated in an old barn converted into a bunkhouse in the middle of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
The rooms are 2 and 4 person rooms, so be prepared to share with another.
Breakfast will be provided daily in the form of cereals, porridge, toast, patisseries, juice, and coffee/ tea. If you have any dietary requirements, please let us know asap.
Lunch will be in the form of snacks on the hill suitable for yourself (see kit list). Opportunity to purchase extra provisions in Brecon will be provided.
Dinner/ evening meal is provided depending on tastes/ nutritional preferences but will be a pot meal of sorts. Brecon has an abundance of pubs, restaurants and cafes, so if you wish to eat out then you are more than welcome to do this at your own cost.
