Run Venture Pimple Challenge
The Pimple is a Grade 2 listed folly covering the entrance to an 11m deep former reservoir.
Regally positioned above Tavistock, it rewards its conquerors with spectacular panoramic views across into Dartmoor, and Cornwall.
Although it is only 175 metres high, there is plenty of steepness to sate those with a penchant for hills.
As a walk, it is a nice little test, but as a run, it is a challenge. Short enough to be attacked but long enough to feel the burn! It’s only 1.1 miles there and 1.1 miles back.
The rules for the Run Venture Pimple Challenge are simple:

Challengers begin at the Run Venture Running Hub, counted down by our staff and cheered on by customers

The route is up to the individual, as there are a couple of options

A photo with our loyalty card is taken when the Pimple is reached. Then it is a race back to stopping our timer on arrival

The Challenge is to be completed on foot only meaning no cars, bikes etc can be used

The challenge can be done any time the shop/ café is open.
The joy of the challenge is in its completion, irrespective of the time, and we actively encourage families to take part and get out in the fresh air.
