Here's how it works

​

  1. Run Venture will inspect items brought in

  2. Depending on condition, we then give you a gift voucher to spend in store, relative to the condition of the item donated

  3. The item is then put in our pre-loved section to be passed onto the next person and get back in use, where it belongs.

 


Why it matters


Reason 1

Running shoes are an investment. If you are an established runner, then you already understand that a good pair of running shoes are the essential tools of the trade.

 

However, for many people just starting out on their running journey, the investment in new running shoes can be a barrier to taking up this fantastic activity. Many just start out by running in what looks like a running shoe, found in the shed or bottom of the cupboard, or even worse your kids' old school trainers!

Often gently used running shoes are ideal for those just starting out while you save for a new pair.

Reason 2

Approximately more than 24 billion pairs of shoes are made every year in the world (www.statista.com). Each shoe can have up to 60 different components, making them difficult to recycle. It can be done, but this is quite an involved process. By re-using shoes, we can prevent running shoes going to the incinerator or into landfill.

 

 

What can I trade in?


Most importantly, everything should be clean and in very good condition.

Stuff we can't accept:

 

  • Shoes missing insoles or with heavy wear (eg visible foot indentations)

  • Odd sizes

What condition do my items have to be in to receive a credit?


All products will be inspected for quality and functionality.

 

We grade products in 4 levels: excellent, lightly worn, moderately worn, and well worn.

 

If your items require any sort of repair, are heavily stained, or have broken or missing pieces, you will not receive credit. Evaluation of the condition of your items is up to our discretion. 

 

  • Excellent: Practically new; likely never worn outside: will receive a £20 gift voucher

  • Lightly Worn: Trail/road-tested a few times; minor wear visible: will receive a £15 gift voucher

  • Moderately Worn: Used for a season; visible wear: will receive a £10 gift voucher

  • Well Worn: Broken in; visible wear: will receive a £5 gift voucher

 

 

How will I receive credit for my items?


On completion of inspection of your item, Run Venture will write out a gift voucher relative to the condition, redeemable to spend on any items in store.

Terms & Conditions

 

BY ACCESSING, USING OR TRANSACTING WITH THE RUN VENTURE TRADE-IN PROGRAMME (IN-STORE), YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

 

  • Participation in the Trade-In Programme (“Programme”) is limited to Run Venture customers, age 18 and older

  • All items must be clean, in good working order, and in a resellable condition

  • Items heavily stained, damaged and/ or requiring repair will not receive credit

  • All items must be lawfully owned by the person participating in the Programme

  • Credit for items traded in will be issued via gift voucher; a valid email address is required

  • Run Venture reserves the right to (i) refuse items for participation in the Programme in its sole discretion without notice, and (ii) terminate or modify the Programme in its sole discretion without notice

  • Trade-in credit will be based on an item's resale price and its current condition. Item condition, trade-in value (if any), and resale price are determined at the discretion of Run Venture.

  • All trade-in values issued via Run Venture gift voucher are final

  • Items submitted for trade-in will not be returned to the customer for any reason

 

NEITHER RUN VENTURE, NOR ITS AFFILIATES OR ITS OR THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, AGENTS, CONTRACTORS, BUSINESS PARTNERS, LICENSORS, EMPLOYEES, ASSIGNEES, AND SUCCESSORS-IN-INTEREST (COLLECTIVELY, THE “RUN VENTURE PARTIES”), WILL BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY FOR ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES OR LOST PROFITS, RELATING TO THE PROGRAM OR THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

 

IN CONSIDERATION FOR PARTICIPATING IN THE PROGRAMME, YOU VOLUNTARILY AND UNEQUIVOCALLY WAIVE, RELEASE AND RELINQUISH ANY CLAIMS OR LIABILITY AGAINST THE RUN VENTURE PARTIES. YOUR SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THE PROGRAMME, INCLUDING DISSATISFACTION WITH ITEM CONDITION AND ANY TRADE-IN VALUE, IS TO CEASE PARTICIPATING IN THE PROGRAMME.
